*spoiler* Laguna Seca

#1 Post by Kwackerz » Sun Jul 20, 2008 9:47 pm

Well what a race that was!!!! I feel so sorry for Casey, Him and his nemesis Rossi had what mustve been one of the most intense battles in MotoGp for a few years and right from the off too!
After Casey's off, 16 secs for 1st to 2nd then over 8 to 3rd place.. 22 seconds lead for 2 riders (before the off) together ? Thats got to be an indicator of just how 'on it' those two were!?

Brilliant racing. Absolutely brilliant! Well worth staying up to watch :smt003

Oh.. there were some other bikes on track too.. circulating... as they do... :smt002

sore loser casey

he was out thought i think - rossi was just better - as a rider, casey had the better bike, but rossi is a better rider and his experience told

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

There were several good duels going on back down the field too.
Fantastic racing, tho I thought the two shoulder barges and brake testing went beyond just hard racing.

They dont call this 'The Stoner' forum for a reason, you know... :smt002

I dont think it was anything but 'hard racing'

Think back to WSB with Edwards and Fogarty. Same thing used to go on there... Walker and his nemesis (whose name escapes me) same thing there.

Either way, it made for good watching and Stoner was only bent out of shape over the corkscrew.. which they seemed to have sorted out by the podium. No doubt managers commented on the way up and as the commentators noted, casey didnt see vale gravel trapping thru the corkscrew..

Think there may be 3 other Ducati riders that disagree on that one!

However, fantastic race and great to see Vale pulling that performance out of who knows where.

Lets hope for more of the same after the break

Lovely superman impression by Lorenzo, though
(ouch)

Best race for some time, really enjoyed it.
How the hell did Rossi hold onto the thing, when he ran through to the gravel on the corkscrew, then got the back end out.
Even I thought Casey was about to start walking away with the Championship, then Rossi rides the wheels off the bike to beat him, that bloke is absolutely magic.
Did anybody measure the height that Lorenxzo achieved this time, did he beat the last one?
5.9 for style and 6.0 for the balls to keep getting back on the bike and trying again!
Surely he can't keep beating himself up like this for much longer.

Best MotoGP I've ever watched (reminded me of the '79 500cc British GP at Silverstone with Sheene & Roberts :smt004 )

But last night Valentino showed he is still a racing God :smt003

Even the lads at work (who dont follow bikes) were on about it today. They all think Casey was a bit over the top with his huffiness, but saying that, if Id just ridden the race of my life and lost, i think i'd be more than pissed off too.

What beat me was the state of Rossi's rear tyre, the edges looked like they'd been chewed badly, spesh on the right hand side.

He did go over quite a few kerbs though... sideways, on the power, etc

Im surprised he had any tyre left tbh. I think they were both lucky they ended the battle early, otherwise i'd be surprised if either made it to the finish, their tyres giving way before they did.

Nahhhh, if they'd ridden like the rest of the nancy boys it'd have been next weekend it ended.
