Well he's not had the best of luck in the last couple of weeks, but after the worst possible start when Lanzi took him off in race one, he came back to get a brilliant 7th, one place behing Max, not bad after being 1/2 a lap behind at the end of lap 1. This was enough to make sure that Max was then out of the frame. In race two he finally went for a professional race. Haga was unstoppable today and Jim was not going to beat him without risking everything, so he went for the result he needed to win the Championship.
Some people may knock him but this was a very tight championship and by the latter part of the season the Honda was far from the best bike. He has now won WSB twice and also had a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the championship, a pretty good record to leave WSB with, especially for somebody who was only 27 on Friday, (p.s. not a bad birthday present!).
Congratulations mate, they'll be partying in Kiveton tonight.
Good luck in MotoGP.

Doesn't matter where he lives now, he'll always be from "round ere"!(lol)
His bike was crap today and has looked a handful for a good few rounds recently, so it definately wasn't easy for him, but he knew he had to bring it home, and that's what he did (unlike a certain F1 driver who grabbed all the headlines yesterday for loosing!! what a country we live in eh?)
Good on yer JT

Nori is brilliant and always has been great to watch, but Jim is a Brit, who used to live a 100 yards down the road from me and went to the local Comp. with my daughter. Hence I have followed his career from his early days, so yup I am biased, but the bloke with the most race wins won the championship, nuff said.
I think most people would agree that for the latter part of the season the Yamaha was the best bike, by the end the Honda was probably 4th best, (behind Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati and possibly even the Kwaks). I would really like to see Nori take them all to the cleaners next year, but he will not have a prayer, as Troy on the 1200 Duke will wipe them all out, could even have the Japs pulling out if he goes too well.
I still cannot work out why the bikes should be close to "standard" yet Ducati start off with a 1098 and end up with a 1200 with stronger pistons as well as bigger bores. Somebody is taking the piss, but there are many people in high places who would like to see Ducati take the MotoGP and WSB titles next year. They could well do it.
