I like SV650s - a lot. If I was starting out on two wheels I'd be all over one of those like a rash.

D-Rider, congrats to your lad on passing his part 1, he is interested and as you are a falco rider too, i'll to it to him at a special price, if you want to see it pm me and ill send some pics.
it's my 3rd sv, i had one as a courtesy bike a few years back a mk1 and now this mk2, the sound great with an M4 system on.

I'll have a chat with him to see whether he's interested.
Is it one of the new fuel injected jobbies or a carb model? (I know you've mentioned it's a MK2 but not sure exactly what that means). Although he's old enough to do direct access, he's opted to do the test on his 125 - so I'd need to put a restrictor kit on it for a couple of years.
I think the carb models just have plates to restrict the aperture but the fuel injected models require a different ecu.

The lad was looking into a daytona 650 when he passed his test all that it needed was a stop on the throttle to restrict it and that was injection, so i should look into it a bit more D-R it might be simpler than you think!

Check on sv650.org for more details but I believe the injected SVs required a special ECU to restrict them, whereas the older carbed ones just use some metal discs or modified carb slides.
