Stop at pic 21 unless you want to see the thing back when I was in love with it
http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll203/k1w1boy/

...enough sneaking around - I'm pleased to say that I'm buying F9's pretty 54 plate black 'n' Bronze bird. This means to offset the cost a bit I need to try to flick this thing. It's a 2002 with sketchy service history, a buggered (though to what degree I don't know) sprag and a slew of other minor and major mechanical faults. Currently SORNed and untaxed. Any reasonable offer will be considered. Collection only (Ilford - spitting distance from the A13).

The 'good'
- uk bike -some service history
- tyres have quite a bit of life in them
- mechanical service by Southern Cross less than 3k miles ago
- fireblade stand and broken original
- RSVR net tail tidy and original
- original exhausts
- seat hump and pillion seat present
- holed but fixable bellypan included
- fairly tidy pyramid screen
- clumsily installed, but functional scottoiler
- working datatool S3 alarm and two fobs
- recent clutch seals done
- brakepads etc all have a bit of life in them

The 'bad'
- been standing for 4 months - never planned to 'hibernate' it so I didn't prep in any way. S3 alarm has been eating the battery.
- The plastics are very tatty: left mid-fairing chewed;there are stone-chips and deepish scratches on the headlight surround; one bar end is missing and the rubber grips are perished and gaccky; the r/h tail fairing has a deep gouge near the 'duct'; loose, broken hugger which I should have slung ages ago
- throttle cable needs replacing - works but is a bit sticky and part of the metal sleeve where it joins the twist-grip is broken
- imperfect but functional front fairing subframe; snorkels have broken mounting points
- RH exhaust is crumpled but it still passed MOTs (they are MTC round stainless - no baffles - very loud)

The 'ugly'
- sprag - or at least that's what I assume - is stuffed so the bike is a non-runner. I never got it investigated so it's anyones guess how stuffed or not things really are.

It's probably part-able - I could certainly keep the tyres and sundry other consumables/losables - but frankly I don't have the patience and figured I'd see what - if any - response I get here. Hopefully the mage link will work. :smt019 :smt019 :smt019 :smt019

I'll start the bidding at £100.

being realistic....

the sprag is going to cost the wrong side of 200 if some one does it them selves, 500 via a stealer

the body work is tattier than andy's jock strap...

the bolt ons are not that special ..... bar the cowl! that may well surprise you at 60 plus....

if you can get 600 as it is - i think you would be doing well

It looks quite good in a ratted way. All it needs is the sprag fixing and 4 satin black rattlecans.

Just spent money on other stuff so I'll pass as I fancy being let into the house in future.

I still reckon you could get 900 with the right description and if you pitched it to the right crowd.. 1000cc Streetfighter project... etc etc

*edit*

mental note made about the height comment... :smt002

I agree that Tim is much closer with his valuation - though, as always, the market will pay what it will pay on the day ..... and the Sprag will not cost that much DIY .....

BTW k1w1boy neglects to mention the fine array of premium cable ties holding it together (unless they've all now been superseded)

...just after norfolk 2010 (bats and buggered batteries), I managed to get a recycled subframe for the front fairing/clocks, so that did away with the cable tie and re-engineered coathanger arrangement. :smt016

....would love to, but with no landline (as required to sell stuff on e-bay, last time I tried) - this forum and the associated digital word-of-mouth is my best option. Nice thought though :smt006
