What you using now instead m8? I went the gixxer route and fitted using Falcomunky's instructions. (i'm on mille swing arm and shock with rear ride height quite high) and its rock solid. Even uses the falco switch.

HTH.

Reverted back to my extended std stand. Which although not the strongest is at least long enough. I reckon I cocked up here, and fooled myself into thinking the VTR stand was longer than the Falco one.

Or I got sold the wrong stand!!, In which case a very pi**ed off Goldie will be after my blood

I'll keep my eye's open for Gixer one, could someone do me a favour and actually measure the length of the Gixer stand?

Well i hate to piss on your chips Goldie but if what i've read is right is that the VTR stand hangs at roughly the same angle as original, just longer, which IMHO is to close to the centre of the bike and still not totally stable ( but better nonetheless).

The beauty of the GSXR stand is that when down it is longer and also kicks further out to the side ( by a good couple of inches) so even if there was no change in attitude of the bike on stand it would still be far more stable.

I stand (hurr hurr) to be corrected on this though.

TBH I've been watching the stand issue being discussed for years now and never done anything about it. Originally there seemed to be more in favour of the VTR option; lately it seems more favour the GSXR.

I've never had a problem with the original (touches wood frantically); sure you have to be careful where you park, but it works and it's still straight despite being firmly strapped down on ferry crossings (where others have reported their's bending). I just thought I'd take advantage of a cheap trial from a trusted ( :smt005 :smt005 ) source (sorry, Rich!!!). If it's an improvement, fine, otherwise I've just bought another little ornament for the garage. :smt011 :smt005

The Gixer stand as compared, (roughly admittedly but you get the idea), with the OE stand.
As Bigun has already stated you get to keep the switch too, which is always a bonus. :smt003
The bikes CofG is almost past the OE stands CofG, (Center of Gravity, btw)!
Scary!
As you can see, the foot of the Gixer stand is well past the bikes CofG making it much more stable imo.

i really must do the photos of the beast soon....

I switched to the vtr stand, retained the sidestand switch and it feels a lot more secure than the standard one - and since making the change, I have also added a mille shock....

I do watch where i park though, and always put the front onto full left lock

Here's mine, infinitely better than the Aprilia one! It's had some serious tweaking to get it just right, but I'd still recommend it to anyone.

(Edit) Though I'd better clarify, it's NOT for sale, I just posted it as an example of how far they swing out.
