Wanted-Replacement for Falco shock
Looking for a good change-out of the standard shock, anyone out there got an unwanted Sachs or similar for reasonable money they want to move to a good home?
Let me know,

first off - welcome
first things first, decide on your budget and what you really want - simple choice is either new, or second user from other bikes - mainly Mille's
use this matrix to see what will fit from the aprilia spares catalog - otherwise known as evilbay:
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/show ... p?t=162440
quick perusal of UK ebay showed:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/APRILIA-RSV-1000- ... _500wt_956
that will fit straight in with no linkages needed iirc With any second hand shock, consider you may well want to get it serviced before fitting
you may also want to consider searching through german ebay - lots of stuff there and the dealers will ship to uk in the main
buying new - hmm - no real experience tbh - consider hagon or nitron at budget end of market....
oh - get your bum in the virtual bar to say hello and get the ales in

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

An odd one that! Says it's from a 1999 bike .... which should be a white springer ..... but isn't .....FlyingKiwi wrote:Hi OG and welcome.
I'd just like to point out that Alad is WRONG!![]()

Maybe the previous owner upgraded?

I went by the year - not the actual image - was looking at it on my phone and had images turned off
yes, it does look like a yellow sachs model - but year wise.... suggest that asking the seller if the linkages and dogbone could be included in the purchase??
that way all bases are covered.....

Al Lad, thanks for the heads up on the bay shock, but & this is where I need the advice, it looks in the pic as tho its well, how can I say it FOOKED!
As I have said prev. I have very little experience so if the shock looks like it has come out of Noahs arc like this one, is it that it don't matter? am I to assume that I send it to bere-cooked & it will come back all nice & shiney?
Ta.

I have posted something on the official Club aprilia boards
http://forums.clubaprilia.net/forum_pos ... 2309#82309
(You should be able to see it, just not post!)
Is club membership worth it?? well, is 20 quid for life, so i think so
their forums can be entertaining, and they do have a few rides etc organised
you may well recognise some of the names btw.....

Is refreshing to find a couple of forums that have some good banter & good people on them willing to help.
Cheers.
