PM sent

.... but ....
1) Trim pots are enabled anyway (though think they are not for USA bikes)
2) I think the Renegade also alters the ignition map ... which is why I'm interested in it to use alongside my PCIII

That reminds me I bought a Renegade "plus 10" (I think), chip about a year ago and never got round to fitting it. Let us know how you go on Andy, and I'll have a go at fitting mine, think I paid £40 for it.

I doubt I will fit it 'till I'm ready to get the PCIII mapped .... that will be after I've modified my airbox .... so it won't be for a few months.
I will let you know though Howard.

Chip now sitting in my spare ECU - waiting for me to sort out my airbox and a PCIII dyno session.

Yes - it adds or subtracts fuel.

If you have a PCIII (and get its map set up for your bike) it is normally pointless fitting a different chip - it will give you nothing.

However, there are a few chips that alter the ignition timing as well as fuelling - generally giving more advance where this is beneficial (for noise and emissions reasons, both fuelling and ignition timing maps are compromised from a performance and economy perspective).
As the PCIII only affects fuelling, there can be benefits in also fitting a chip that improves the ignition map.

The chips we know to affect ignition timing are:
  • * Gabro's chips
    * The FP 1314 chip
    * The Renegade chips
