GONE: Falco petrol tank in Hot Red / Diablo Black (AUS)

#1 Post by Viking » Wed Nov 02, 2016 8:35 am

Forgot to update this ages back when it got shipped to FalcoPops...

Apologies if you were looking for a new tank.

V.

Hi all,

This thing is still up for grabs. Currently on FleaBay as well, but reminding the vultures there's some fresh Falco bits up for the taking....

I can supply photos if required. Just reply here or PM me.

Cheers,
V

Way back, long ago I wrote:

Now that I have a CF tank fitted to the bike, my old (stock) tank is now up for sale. It's in the Hot Red / Diablo Black scheme, has all the stickers on it and a few small scratches from the usual wear and tear.

Because here in Oz, we have fairly strict laws about ethanol in petrol (and require all fuel with ethanol in it to be clearly marked), it's never had ethanol tainted fuel in it. The "cheapest" petrol it's had has been 95RON, and usually it's been filled with 98RON. If that makes any difference.

Price? I just want to be rid of it. Make me an offer (and don't forget postage costs to ship a 5kg lump to your destination).

Photo of it here: https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.php?t=11775

NOTE: No fittings provided - you need to supply your own filler cap, pump and front mounting bracket.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Meh. He was all over it then disappeared.

And when did you leave Oz? I thought you were still in Queensland?

Can't add a photo directly, so it's a clicky-clicky off to my Google drive.

that's the same colour as the damaged repairable one I've got to rebuild, but it's in Townsville and I'm in Scotland. I'll see if a mate will hold it for me and get back to you.

Hey FalcoPops,

Obviously you're not going to get back to Oz anytime soon. Are you still interested in the tank? I can chuck it back in the garage and hold onto it for you.

Cheers mate, that'd be great, but if you get an offer take it rather than miss it, I'm still likely to be here for a while yet.

Mate, the bastard's been on FleaBay for a solid couple of months and not a scrap of interest. A couple of people watching it, but no-one actually wanting to stump up the readies.

Edit: OK, auction canned. They had their chance to buy it and they missed out.

Let me know when you're back in Oz - which could be a while given the whole CV19 cluster-fsck that's going on - and we can discuss how to get it to you.
