G'day TreeTops,

What temperature does the low-temp fan switch turn the fans on, please? The Aussie summer means the Falco is running a bit hot almost all the time I'm riding. :smt012

Cheers!

I'll answer on his behalf. Its as easy as a falco falling off its sidestand. See them two allen bolts on the picture of the damper? They bolt into mounting holes that aprilia kindly put in.

If you look under the front fairing you'll see your brake lines going through a triangle of plastic used to keep muck from spraying up behind your headlight. Well the hardest part of fitting the damper is getting this crap thing off :smt001 Somewhere up there are a lug on the headsock and another lug on the tripple clamp, both threaded ready to fasten into. Easy peasy.

But you dont really want it, it adds extra weight, women dont like it and god will strike you down.

/obiwan mode/ there is no damper, move along now. /obiwan mode off/

EDIT: I think postage will be about a million pounds, good luck :smt016

Small update - I'm busy busting a gut at work. I'll respond and get the items shipped out towards the end of the week.

Question about the temp switch - I have no idea. I'd guess a quick search at AF1 would help answer the question.

Damnit... I should have thought of that first. :smt013

Having a quick poke around AF1 finds me a low temp thermostat switch but no low temp fan switch. There is an OEM fan switch but that's not much help.

Still interested in it, though.

Really interested in them fork thingy's.

Just one query really.

How easy to fit to Falco? Do I just need to source a lower yoke?

I will be fitting my ohlins forks very soon.

The ohlins tubes are 51mm in diameter compared to the 53mm, so you will need the corresponding ohlins upper and lower yokes, and new clip-ons. Yokes are easy to find as they appear on ebay from time to time and are fairly common at breakers. I struggled with the clip-ons because using the mille ohlins clip-on means the bars touch the tank when in full steering lock, and there are no Falco ohlins clip-ons... so I got some 1mm spacers (1mm each side makes the 2mm shortfall) made up by a metalworks company and I will use the stock clip-ons.

See here http://www.rsvr.net/pages/PROJECTBANANA.asp

and here http://apriliafalco.info/index.php/falc ... a_mille_r/

I hope to have mine done in the next month (yeah right!), I will post piccies up after that.

I'm back from my vacation in the Caymen Islands spending all the money you've sent in the post to me...

No, I'm back from working like a tit - well, 2 days off sick from doing 16 hour days, 7 days / week means I've found a little bit of time to get things sorted. I'll be boxing your parts up and sending them off in the morning. I'll pop you all an email / update in the morning to say that they are in the post.

Dam it treetops, why do you make it so hard to send you money :smt002

I have your address but you havent said how much postage is. I'd guess but youve probably sent it personal-airmail-hand-delivered-by-a-prince-of-a-small-african-nation like them emails i get from ebay.

I'll wait till it arrives then i can add more on than you paid, thus cleverly adding 1 more star to my sainthood certificate
