Very low Mileage Falco for sale, I mean it reallly low.

#1 Post by Longhorn » Thu Sep 02, 2010 3:58 pm

It is finally time to admit that I am not much of a biker and sell my Falco. She has been sat in the garage for some time now doing nothing so the money would be more useful than the bike. It will be a shame to see her go but I just don't use her, as you will see later.

I want £4000 or very close. If I get the £4000 I will include all the extras listed below. Less than £4000 and it is standard bike only.

The good bits...

Bought in March 2005 from On Yer Bike for £5000, I have the reciepts with all the manuals etc

Comes in the fastest colour of metalic mud er I mean metallic brown and bronze

VERY low mileage of, wait for it, 571! yes that is 571 miles from new. Technically not run in yet.

Has a black baglux tank cover fitted, no bag as I never got round to getting one.

Has renagade cans and chip on it unfortunately not the ones with the road legal baffles fitted. The "not for road use" stamping seems to of *ahem* rubbed off. The box the chip came with has +2 written on it, means nothing to me.

Original cans included and original chip.

Pillion seat included and seat cover.

spare key, 2 keys in total.

V5c

data tagged

I will also include the abus disc lock and abus black granite chain and lock if I get the £4000. All the keys and spares are present.

Oh nearly forgot the bike cover, not alot to say about that other than it covers the bike, has some yellow paint on it.

I am the only owner on the V5c

the less good bits

No tax or MOT as there is no insurance on it. I can see no reason why it would fail an mot.

No service history as she never made it that far.

Small scratch on the lower right hand panel. I can take a pic of it if needed. I think the lawn mower caused this as it lives next to the bike and the garage is getting quite full.

now for some pics

To be honest, get an MOT on it!
You'll have more of a chance of getting decent money for it. For the outlay of the few quid to get someone to trailer it to the centre, it's money well spent and with the bike having low mileage, it reassures the potential buyer that all is well with no hidden ills like leaking dried out seals, seized components, etc etc

I know what you mean about the MOT but getting it there will be a bit of a pain. I did have the use of a van for work but that is now a car so a bit tricky to get it in. :smt017

Must be a "sister bike" to mine .... bought at a similar time from the same dealer for a fraction under £5K.

...... just 17k miles or so separates them ..... and the odd mod or two ... or three ... or ......

:smt002

I think I'd have to agree that an MOT would make quite a difference.

Frightningly I guess it must still be on those shockingly awful MEZ3 tyres .... they were bad enough new let alone aged for 5 years.

For the newer members of the forum, you won't have experienced those tyres and in the current day of "there's no such thing as a bad tyre" you will probably struggle to comprehend just how bad they were .... bike wouldn't turn, always felt nervous ..... best thing was they wore out pretty quickly .... a new set of rubber and the bike was transformed.
The sidestand and shock certainly came after the tyres in the "you've got to change it" stakes.

It sounds a lovely bike though and will make someone a real good bike, especially with the extras listed (the cans are now rare as rocking horse poo by the way as Renegade are no longer and with the chip, make that rare rocking horse poo)

Well noted point about the tyres though DR. Cant be many Falcos sitting on the MEZ3's

Hope you manage to sell it and hope you get near to your desired price, we're not all doom and gloom really and certainly not trying to kill a sale. That's a really nice bike and with a couple of things changed, someone will be sat with a highly desirable bit of italian exotica!

that is a bargain - but i fear you will not sell it for 4 000

even with the low mileage, I think you will get around 3 000 for it

for what its worth the renegades and chip - and yes they should be sold together as that is how they were bought, are worth about 200

it will need new tyres for certain - that is 200 to 250 fitted

an mot would help a lot

sorry to be a bad peep but i am honest....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
