Potential sale of non-running falco.

#1 Post by ginge » Fri Jul 15, 2016 9:46 pm

Just gauging interest of a non-running but complete Falco and it's potential value. Has 50k miles on it but only 10k done by me. Within that time it has had new bushes for all the rear suspension, shock re-built at Steve Jordan last year (aftermarket WP). Front forks have recent seals and oil (within last 3k miles) new sprockets fitted and chain waiting to go on. Bodywork is average but all ok, no cracks etc. I've also just changed all coolant hoses.

The problem is it's a non-runner. Recently changed the valve stem seals on the rear cylinder as rear plugs got fouled. Started up the bike and slowly but surely it did it again. I've quite frankly lost interest in the bike and not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of getting it running or fitting a new engine although I may change may mind.

At a guess I'd say that either I've done a shit job on fitting the seals, not seated the valves correctly or the piston rings have gone (although they appeared fine on inspection). I didnt do a compression test.

Due to all of this I'm wondering (A) what the bike may be worth and (B) if anyone is interested?

Thanks, Rob.

Thanks for the offer but it appears I was being a drama-llama and the problem wasnt actually a problem. Just needed a bit of running, and not so much oil!
