I'd be grateful for suggestions for a front paddock stand - reasonable quality, reasonable price. Main intended use will be to lift the wheel off the ground for winter storage.

Or, does anyone here have a used one, surplus to requirements?

Most of the ones I've seen recently have those three point mountings that sort of grab your lower fork leg. I'm not particularly impressed with them, tbh. A few years ago one used to be able to get front paddock stands with specially-sized inserts that fitted into the recess in the base of the fork leg, sized for your particular bike. But trying to find them nowadays is a thankless task.

So while I can't offer any help, I appreciate your problem. I'm seriously thinking about designing and welding up one of my own (once I've figured out how to work this new welder I've got...)

i have one of those types mango - and i like it - a lot more rigid than those ones that grip the bottom of the forks...

only thing the falco needs to have done prior to use is to take the two bolts out to take the cover off so the thingie will go in.... if you know what i mean!

I've one with "spikes" that go up into holes in the bottom of the forks. Bought that and a rear stand second-hand from someone from Cov Bikers - £30 the pair.

I've got one of the peg support type's.. They're not great and I don't trust it. The one Andy mentions is good.. Sure footed and isn't going anywhere. The alternative is a headstock stand, but you might have to remove a few bits of plastic to get it under.

I've also got one of the steering stem support types - beautifully made in stainless steel by Harris, but it cost over £120 a couple of years ago and you do have to remove the plastic triple clamp undertray jobbie.

But it does work exceedingly well, and different adaptors are available for different bikes and fork removal is a breeze. But so it should be at that price...
