New lid

Having survived a particularly stressful shopping trip in Swindon with the better half, I managed to wangle a quick stop at George White's and had a little mooch round their clothing outlet. Came away with a nice shiney new lid which to be honest I really didn't need but couldn't help myself.

HJC HQ-1 (top of the range carbon fibre job) already cracking value for money at it's full price of £270 but George has a big stack of them in all sizes for a mere 150 notes. Looks great, lightweight, a full 5 stars on the new SHARP test (unlike the Arai RX7 I might add) and probably the most comfortable lid I have ever put on my head. Yet to try it in action but should be impressive.

IMHO HJC are probably the best value for money and most underrated lids around at the moment and especially after seeing the latest SHARP test results I am quite happy to trust one of them with my head. Also did a season and a half of Moto X wearing one of their helmets and even with my average of one high speed head first crash per meeting it stood up remarkably well.

I love my HJC CS-12 Roadfighter. Bought it in 2004, it was a fairly quiet, well fitting helmet then, didnt mist easily and felt of a decent quality, price was good too at under 200 quid.
4 years later it's still a quiet, well fitting helmet that still feels of a decent quality. :smt001 I rate HJC very highly and although ive not crashed in mine, I know a few who have while racing and survived some big crashes thanks to their HJCs.

I was pleased they scored highly in the SHARP test.

Those prices sound damn good! Do they have a website?

yeah, I got one too :smt006
Mines the black pattern one. not plain carbon.
I paid £150 for it 6 mths ago delivered from Helmetcity.co.uk but they want £199 now.
I just fired of a whinge to HJC as the red tag on the double D rings has frayed and is about to come off.
All they said was thanks for your input :smt017
