Continuing the other thread on Chains and Locks, how about Alarms?

Ive got one on the TT, an Veto Evo II from Datatool. Hate the bloody thing. Ive had continual problems with it and ended up sending it off to the factory to be repaired, but, it's there, a deterrent. I per5sonally think the Datatags ive got on the bike do a better job. Ok they dont make a huge noise when the bike is nicked, but they do provide a deterrent, possibly more than the alarm. Lead lined van anyone? :smt017 :smt011

Anyone got a preference for an alarm? Had one that works well, hopefully you havent had to use it, but anyone got a good (?) experience of their alarm?

I'm a fan of the Xena alarmed disc locks but only use it when I park up somewhere I feel it might be useful.

mine too - but without the "it's great" :smt009

Damned thing has lost it's voice - on an intermittant basis. Sometimes , usually after being parked up , it beeps on setting etc but almost never does after a ride :smt017

Still works as an immobiliser/deterrent though.

Me too - bought it second-hand off ebay (fortunately previous owner marked up the wires as Meta won't release info ... and all the wires are black ....)

It's been excellent. The only criticism is that the alarm sometimes goes off on windy days when the bike gets buffeted - some adjustable sensitivity would be nice.
