Motorcycle Security - Alarms and the like

Continuing the other thread on Chains and Locks, how about Alarms?
Ive got one on the TT, an Veto Evo II from Datatool. Hate the bloody thing. Ive had continual problems with it and ended up sending it off to the factory to be repaired, but, it's there, a deterrent. I per5sonally think the Datatags ive got on the bike do a better job. Ok they dont make a huge noise when the bike is nicked, but they do provide a deterrent, possibly more than the alarm. Lead lined van anyone?
Anyone got a preference for an alarm? Had one that works well, hopefully you havent had to use it, but anyone got a good (?) experience of their alarm?
