A relatively new jacket on the biker scene, the Pharaoh impact jacket works!

It inflates in half a second, providing air bag protection to the upper torso, elbows, etc when the rider is separated from the bike. Prices in the US are about 600 dollars. UK availability not known.

I think it's great! There's an interview with a guy floating round the net, the first real test for the jacket. 140mph crash, broke his arm, but the jacket saved him a lot of pain!

I wonder if theyre re-usable?

A seriously slow speed fall off could end up costing 600 dollars instead of 10 dollars for a new mirror, if you see what i mean!

Assuming there is some kind of trigger cable attached to the bike , it wouldnt do to dismount without disconnecting it.

There's a clue here:
All of the jackets are reusable, after inflation however all jackets need to be inspected by an authorized dealer for damage before reuse. The CO2 cartridge is good for one inflation only and must be replaced by an authorized dealer.

:smt002 Knew I shouldve read the page properly!

Not gonna be cheap though. what's a refill going to be, 50 dollars a time? That could be an expensive 'OOPS!' when you walk away from the bike still connected!!

Definately a step in the right direction though, inflatable jackets.
