Shoei dark visors

I have just bought a nice shiny Shoei Raid lid and it's lovely.

I also bought a Shoei dark visor for those bright sunny days - remember them?

BUT the visor is really disappointing. It isn't particularly dark, more a bluey/green tint and although it does cut out glare I keep thinking it's either dusty or misted up. (it's not though) Compared to my old Suomy one it's crap. That one was a proper dark tint and worked superbly.

Anyone got any experience of this?

P.S. PLEASE can we not turn this into a discussion of the wisdom/merits/legality of dark visors. :smt018

No

I've used Shoei's (Raid and Raid 2) with dark visors for the last 3 years and never had a problem.

I've usually bought from www.racevisors.co.uk and always gone for the genuine Shoei visor - sure you didn't get a part tinted one?

Yes mine came from there too. It's a genuine one for a Raid II.

I note that they do various degrees of tint. Light, Med or Dark but I ordered a dark and it does seem fairly dark - just not as much as the Suomy one.

I can live with the level of tint I suppose but it's just this "mistyness" that bugs me. Perhaps I'll get used to it :smt017

Suppose it could just be a manufacturers difference and I'm used to it.

Wouldn't crash in anything else though :smt002
