I'll soon be needing to replace my rear tyre - Michelin Pilot Road 2, done nearly 8,000 miles. I'm tempted to stick with the PR2, but was wondering how those who've used both PR2 and PR3 rate one against the other, particularly as regards wear/durability. The guys on a Michelin stand at a recent show assured me a PR3 rear is compatible with a PR2 front.

I use PR2 mart and i know Hisnibbs has PR3
I find the PR2 is excellent for grip and durability, i too will soon be needing new tyres and i will be fitting the PR2s has my replacement

PR3 has good reviews regarding cold and wet grip..... but if you've had around 8k miles from the back hoop, and you're happy with it, then you know it works
Maybe speak to a 3 pilot to get an idea of lifespan ?

I had PR2s on my Bandit and loved them so when the crappy Conti Motions finally expired on the Falco recently I decided to give the PR3s a go.
Only done about 300 miles so far so can't comment on longevity, but they feel bloody good - similar to how I remember PR2s.
Michelin used to specify 36psi F&R, but their website now says to set pressure as per owners handbook which I think is 35F and 38R.
Anyway, I asked the boss at SMD tyres and he said Michelin listed the Falco as 35F and 36R. I have compromised at 35F and 37R which feels good to me.
