for some time I have been after a new helmet
I narrowed the list down a fair bit, but these were my criteria:
Flip front
comfortable
pin lock
quiet
optionally:
integrated sun visor
I got my short list down to the schuberth c3 and the shoei multitec
I chose the multitec in the end as the schuberth is too damned expensive and trying to find one to try on was very hard - like impossible
Local stealers, some haggling and 250 quid
Got the lid, the pinlock a spare tinted visor and the whisper strips - and a new reactive pin lock
oh - i asked for the discount :)
unusually for me, i did not choose a black helmet - anthracite dark grey is the new black :)
new helmet

new helmet
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Did it fit like a normal pinlock or did it glue like a normal HyperOptic unit?
The standard HyperOptic ones glue in and cannot be removed, you need a new visor if you take them out. The problem is the relatively thick black glue line. This is no problem in a normal visor without pinlocks. The standard Arai pinlock insets are much more tapered towards the pin and clearly in your vision area, but not a major problem as the pinlock units fit with a sort of clear gel that does not obstruct vision too much. If the HO units were shaped this way they would seriously block your vision.
Sorry to go on mate, you will either understand easily what I'm on about or not!
The US Hyperoptic web site seems to show them as the smaller pinlock type inserts using the gel rather than glue. These are also normally much easier to fit than the glued type as you only get one go with the latter!
