Shark speed R, anyone tried one on a faired bike?

#1 Post by wayno » Mon Mar 04, 2013 9:30 am

As per the title. I'm thinking of getting one.

My AGV SV stealth is crap, it starts whistling as soon as you turn your head and then you have to press the visor to reseal it.

I've had a shark in the past, a RSX, and after about 3 years of abuse it started to go round the bottom of the lining so I picked up the AGV.

Now I'm thinking of going back to shark for a speed R, but want to know if anyone else has tried them on faired bikes (I have read lots of good reviews about them)

Cheers

I've been using a Shark Vision R for over a year now and it's great.

Very comfortable, a bit noisy as it has recesses by the ears for bluetooth thingys, but I wear earplugs on long runs so not a problem.

The flip down sun visor is awesome, especially over here, ventiation is pretty good and improves with speed. Fortunately I've not had any problems with fogging as it never gets cold enough for that.

It has a little click in thingy to pop the visor a crack that I use all the time and have the feeling that it'll break eventually, in fact I'm surprised it's still attached, so mabye unfounded.

The visor is a straight pull out push in thing and seems to work fine.

The internals are all removable and washable.

I'd have another one.

Hahaha, I had done a review here on the vision r too... Deleted it though as after soke research the only thing the two helmets share is the "r" and shark.

Though on the vision r the extra vision is magic.

Thanks chaps, but it's the speed r I'm after for use on a faired bike.

The speed r is a completely different shape and apparently has been extensively designed for use on unfaired bike, I'm wondering if anyone uses one on a fully faired bike.

Cheers
