New Falco owner

#1 Post by Mellor Mon » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:58 pm

Hi All,
I've not long had this Falco.
It's mad I'm struggling to keep the front wheel on floor-----I love it.
Why didn't someone tell me about these bikes before.
Is anyone planning any rideouts around Lancashire ????
Oh yeh, What's all this about side stands made of cheese???

Cheers
Mellor Mon

Hi ya, welcome to the brotherhood (+ Jadaris)
Yes the original stand is made of cheese. Lots of info on alternatives in the forums. I have a U.S stand myself.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Welcome MM
Ill have a JD while yer in the Bar!

It depends on whether your Falco is an import or a Euro model, with reference the sidestand, that and whether its already been modded or not!

Have a search through the Falco forum https://www.ridersite.com/viewforum.php?f=20

OK Last question before I go off and re-invent the wheel.

How do I tell if the side stand is original?

The bike is a 2002 only done 8900 miles and had 2 previous owners. Almost mint condition, only mods I'm aware of are Maxton rear shock and Scorpion cans.

look at bike while on sidestand - if sidestand is very close to centre line and is up right... that will be stock standard

yes - put it like this, when you park the bike are you nervous about how it sits?

look at http://img716.imageshack.us/i/p2090002.jpg/

see how the sidestand is planted away from the bike? - that is a bubseywoo stand

Thanx for your help as you can tell from my spelling I need to hit the sack.
I'll check out how the bike sits tomorrow, and will possibly be asking for further advise.

Thanx Again.
