Another Newie! Son of mouthy git!!

Hi everyone.. just a quick intro about myself 'the newbie'. I've been meaning to join for a while now since inheriting my dad's Falco - well for a cut down price anyway! Learning a lot about it already 'cause I don't even know how fast I've been going, the speedo's not working!!! After stripping the bike down considerably today, trying to find out the cause, wiring, relay's, fuses etc, decided it might be the sensor itself?? Appreciate any thoughts or things to try if anyone's got a better idea than me?
Look forward to speaking to some of...
Cheers
Will

Welcome aboard finally Will.
I guess now I've lost the father/son exclusive I'll have to get the grandson to sign up.

I doubt his bones are harder, they haven't hit the deck often enough yet
Daren't drink anymore I'll be sozzed.
I did tell him as well but I'm sure the Falco lot will tell him better than I can.

No way, much harder bones i'd say. Seen the deck 3 times in 3 years - although the old man (git) really knows how to stack it better than me I must admit!
Thanks for your welcomes. Yep been riding on and off for just over 4 years now. Only now though am I lovin' the proper power of a thou!! Look forward to pestering everyone with my inept but growing technical knowledge of what is wrong with my bike!
Forgot I was in the bar earlier - sorry mines a Jack!! Jacks all round. Hope this is the proper etiquette
So am I in for a shock from the falco mob

Hi Will, one of the shocking Falco mob here.
I'll have a DB draught seen as the Crusaders won the Super 14 final on the weekend
As for your speedo. The sensor is mounted near the rear brake. I'd check for a dodgy connection or moisture in the connector.
Here's a
LINK to another forum which describes a test to check if the sensor is faulty.
If it's knackered I believe the same sensor is fitted to RSV 98-03, All RSVR, Tuono and 98 onwards RS250.They're not cheap so ebay may be your best bet.

Yep - welcome from me too .... hopefully we've now got the voice of reason from the family to balance out the rantings of that old git.
Just to prove you're better than your old man - keep it the right way up

Welcome in Will
I don't have a 'prilla anymore (and it wasn't a Falco) - but I still have three Italians so I know what the joys and errm 'little niggles' are like

Hi Will, good to see you keeping the family tradition going. Just don't take any riding tips from your old man
