150% version? :smt003

I had a plum brandy in Carcasson last summer, they mix it with something that looks like thin custard, bloody lovely it is but 2 and you're legless.

Anyway, hope you're having better weather than us :smt001

Cheers chaps, you are always welcome to pop in.

Gio, the tree outside my bedroom window was heaving with Mirrabelle plums so it seemed a shame not to use them.

So about 20kilos, 10 bottles of vodka, 5 bottles of brandy, and 5 bags of sugar later, and a little simmering to promote the fermentation, I have about 20 mason jars improving by the day. The first was opened about a month after it was bottled and yes you are right...2 glasses and KERPOW! The majority will be left for 4 months at least. Interesting to know what the thin custard was? Advocaat?

Wasn't advocaat it wasn't that sweet. It also had a hint of vanilla aBout it.

I'll try and get a bottle of it when we return from Italy this summer.
