Re: I sincerely hope
I dunno - it survived plenty of invasions from VD in the old days, when VD went down and you all piled in!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Welcome Mr Animal! I very much doubt I have any influence over that but we shall see!

Indeed they were, lets see if it can be again

Re: I sincerely hope
But where to target? The new VD? The Jeudean Peoples Front?
Re: I sincerely hope
I hope we stay as Ridersite.
Don't want a VD subforum.

Re: I sincerely hope
Oh for sure, those days are gone. We are all much older, wiser, etc etc now . But it would be a delicious irony if the cross-border incursions were directed at our Alma-Mater. Double bubble if it came from under the RS banner. One would hope that there are folk 'over there' with a sense of humour and a long memory that might, just might, hurl the odd Python-esque 'SPLITTER!" in our general direction.
I believe I might just piss myself laughing that point.

Older is true, but age is but a number, next March I'll be 66, yet I don't feel that old, sadly the brain hasn't matured though.

That was 15-20 years ago and where a lot of us know each other from initially...... when we left there others moved to other forums, some bailed completely and many keep in touch on the book of face
You have your own base of users that hopefully some of us can add something to
Retired from proper work and now part time motorcycle instructor

I have no doubt that the ex VD members will add plenty, what I'd like to see is a boost in new membersBigyin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 12:00 amThat was 15-20 years ago and where a lot of us know each other from initially...... when we left there others moved to other forums, some bailed completely and many keep in touch on the book of face

Well it'll be slow going but if everyone chips in from time to time we can build this place up to be a nice (and not hugely busy) forum. It is my belief that if we get around 100 members contributing at least once a month we'll have a great little community; a place for some proper bike chat and a bit of nonsense.
The site had around 15 people join up in the 12 months before I took over and we've had about 30 in the first 2 months since, so we're getting there.

It will be good if this place can get close to the old RS numbers, let alone the VD numbers.Ben wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 1:16 pmWell it'll be slow going but if everyone chips in from time to time we can build this place up to be a nice (and not hugely busy) forum. All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy.

It does need a core contingent who keep it going (like VD and RS each used to have), and I hope some of the old names reappear. :)Ben wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 1:16 pmWell it'll be slow going but if everyone chips in from time to time we can build this place up to be a nice (and not hugely busy) forum.
