Good evening,
Just joined the site - thanks for the add.
I ride a 2000.5 black Falco, which I have owned from new. (March 2001).
A few mods, RSV swing arm, Pre '96 'Blade shock, Factory Pro chip, K&N filter, uprated clutch slave cylinder, double bubble screen. MCT in Stowmarket rebuilt my forks.
I love the bike, not interested in replacing it.
I live in Suffolk, UK
Cheers
Mark

Welcome to the forum Mark! That's the first I've heard of a 'Blade shock being used on a Falco. How did you figure out that particular mod?

Hi and welcome.
All sounds good (other than the bit about living in Suffolk - obviously)

Could be worse - I used to live in Norfolk - Crossed the border, all jabs and passport control sorted.
The Falco was originally purchased from Chris Clarke of Wymondham.

'Webfoot Territory' - that could be North Norfolk, of the Cambridge Fens

I used to follow a site on Geocities - 'Ken's Falco Site' (in America) - He happened to have a blade shock on his bench when he was servicing his Falco, placed the shock next to the blade shock, and saw the similarity. I gave it a go (penny washer for a shim on the top mount) and all is well.
MCT in Stowmarket thought it was a good replacement when the sorted out my forks. I intend to get them to rebuild it.... eventually...
Welcome

Thanks for the welcome - wasn't sure how bust the forum was, seeing as facebook seems to rule the world these days.
Hope to meet up with some of you some day.

Yes, I remember 'Ken's site', it was an excellent resource. So how does the blade shock compare in overall dimensions, particularly length between mounting centres? I guess the actual mounts are compatible in terms of type and size?
Many moons ago I wrote a guide to Falco rear suspension (in the Aprilia Technical section I think) and it would be good to update it with another option besides RSV Mille shocks.
