Hi, I'm a new member

#1 Post by JeanLucRidehard » Sat Nov 12, 2016 9:10 pm

Hi, my name is Lee aka JeanLucRidehard, going through my DAS, only got mod 2 test left to take, bought a Honda CB650f 2016, for my first bike in 25 years, can't wait to get back into it all again.

Once I have a few months under my belt I will be looking for a low mileage Falco so would welcome any advice or links to bikes for sale, also mates with Blinkey501 for my sins and have spent many many hours talking bikelife.

Cheers

Hi JeanLuc and welcome.

Hope you're enjoying the Honda.

With Falcos being out of production for more than a decade, "low mileage" tends to be a bit of a relative term but they are capable of big miles so not a problem. Overall condition and standard of maintenance is the thing to look for.

Anyway, enjoy the forum :smt006

Welcome skipper can't fault tge folk on here for pointing you in tge right direction but they will also encourage you to buy some luvverly bits and bobs so be warned 😎
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Hi D-Rider and thank you

I am indeed although learning quick it's an expensive hobby !!.

Yeah apologies, I meant ideally under 20k miles, but as I understand they are good for 100k miles so will start the hunt shortly.

Totally agree on the condition and standard of maintenance that's the key.

Enjoying it so far my friend, thanks for the post and advice :smt006

Hi flatlander

I'm a sucker for bits and bobs so god help me.......

I've already had a list a mile long off Blinkey 501......

But as I've said really like the look of the Falco and I've heard nothing but good reports once the essentials have been upgraded.

Cheers :smt002

Me ridehard is familiar with the bits required.

He has expensive tastes, and I would imagine he will have one seriously sorted falco. :smt002

Welcome JL!

(well you didn't really expect everyone to type all that did you?)

Welcome to the lunatic asylum. Once upon a time I had a Falco, but the clutch eventually gave me a bad left wrist. Was a great bike tho, if a bit to small for me!

Hi Gio

Thanks for the feedback, how tall are you if you don't mind me asking, I'm 5"10 so hopefully the ride height should be ok, I do have my heart set on the Falco although the other option was the SV1000s, But Blinkey has sold the dream to me so it's his fault if I don't like it......

He has been known as Twizzle .... this is a clip of him in action and tells you all about him ....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFF26F-C_RQ

We used to have a chap on here called Treetops - he was a good 6ft 7in and he got on with it fine ..... then at the other end of the scale we had Kwackers who had a Mille - and he made Hobbits appear huge.
There aren't many that can't fit on them - particularly with a bit of adjustment on ride-height etc.

You're probably just about right in the middle of the ideal range
