To cut a long story short, I should be in my box or at the very least hospital. Dragged the Futura out earlier to head over to the Marches meet and noticed something didn't feel quite right. Suspected a puncture as has happened before when trying to get to RiderSite do's, and the tyre's haven't long been changed. The thoughts of 'typical' soon waned when I discovered the rear wheel nut had come loose! Carefully nursed her back to the workshop and made sure the bugger isn't coming undone again! Thankfully the taper-ring woodruff key and keyway were in tact. But FARKINEEL!
I'm not too sure if it's possible for it to come all the way undone and have the wheel fall off, but I know I'll be checking it every time I stop for petrol from now on.
Bar is open. Top shelf only!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

You forgot the torque setting for that nut - f**king tight. IIRC, 170 Nm. And the procedure was in those print-offs from the manual I gave you. Consider yourself slapped.
Check that the holes on the inside of the wheel which mate with the projections on the spider, to locate the wheel, haven't been damaged.
Anyway, I'll happily take a drink off you - a large glass of Green, which is my favourite special occasion drink, consisting of a 50/50 mixture of absinthe and creme de menthe.

It was.. That's the thing. However, have now cleaned it up and applied a good coating of high-tack thread lock. That bugger isn't going anywhere until I say so!
