Yeah, I'm a day late. No-one else has said anything, so I'd like to raise a glass to all the veterans and ex-servicemen out there.

Even more so for all the ones who didn't come home.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk wrote:“Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.”

We have two ex squadies recently started at work, several afgan tours behind them, top blokes, tales to tell but very modest.
They have obviously seen hell on earth, hell at work....
To them and those before them, those after them, respect

geoff being old - or veteran, and being serviced by sailors, does not qualify you for a toast....

:)

and as some are aware, we went to observe the silence at the tower yesterday

HUGE respect to all those who served
