Hi All.
I was stopped and interegated by some of the fellow members on here with their Falco's up the Elan Valley yesterday; they directed me here.
I have just a week ago bought my first Falco on a W plate 2000. In black with 38k on her. Done approx 200mile now and am pleased! I have just come off a Triumph Daytona 955i to get on the big twin!

Bit about me - bike mad, ride them, race them, love them. Had many in my short life so looking forward to comparing this Falco.

Had, Honda C50, XL185, Fantic 240 pro, Derbi Senda 50R, a number of cg125's, NSR125 (33bhp), NTV650 revere, Kawasaki ER5, vfr750, fireblade 900rr, cbr 1100 blackbird, Triumph Daytona 955i now the Falco (probably more I have missed!!). Oh, i race a cbr600 steelie (1997).

So as for the Falco, side stand needs doing, like to update mirrors, rear shock could do with upgrade and like to get new pipes..also, if anyone has one i really want a pillion seat as it didnt come with one.

Hi Matt - welcome to Ridersite

Looks as though you've had a good variety of bikes - enjoy the Falco.

Pillion seats don't come up for sale that often and I doubt many on here have a spare - but hopefully you'll be lucky before long.

I was the fat bald one you met up on the dam. Nice to see you in here.
There's loads of info on the site about mods. Shocks, stands, mirrors, wheels - all sorts. They're a decent bunch on here, don't be put off by the ones you've already met. Keep an eye on the classifieds and auction sites, most things turn up.

....to get on the big twin! That sounds more like RandomSquid"s area of expertise especially if the twin in question is wearing a lumberjack shirt and looks like the Eurovision winner after a 20 year diet of burgers pies and steroids !

Welcome and it looks like you've already got your head around what you want to do to your new 'toy'. V-Twins are addictive.

You might want to think about dumping the rear shock - not the best in the world. There is a relatively easy upgrade which, as a self confessed Learner tinkerer, I've done which is to swap out the swingarm for and RSV with a sachs fully adjustable shock - bot Gen 1 versions. You will need the dogbones and triangles as the geometry is different but it is well worth the the mod. And it looks the DB too (just my opinion though).

I have what looks to be an adjustable Sachs (blue) monoshock in the Falco - I am guessing this isn't what you mean? The Mille swingarm does look nice.

I have a Maxton in my Race Bike and is superb, so I have contacted them regarding the Falco - god know what the price will be/if they do anything for Falco...

One of the few things they didn't get right (along with the sidestand {not counting the one for the US market that does the job} and the terrible OE fit Metzler Mez3 tyres - which should all be long gone by now)

They do one for the Falco (another forum member has/had one), he rated it but it was very pricey. I've got a Nitron, and I'm very pleased with it - still not cheap, but cheaper than the Maxton!

Out of curiousity (and i am SURE it is on the site when I search) do the Mille 2004 Ohlins fit? If so, direct swap or a fiddle?

The safe answer is probably not, the reality could be "maybe"

It's certainly been discussed (in the Aprilia section rather than here in the wider forum)

The previous model years' Mille Ohlins are a definite (along with whatever linkages were fitted to the donor bike).
BTW you might find a 2004 registered Mille is an earlier model year - they didn't always sell them within the year in which they were built.
