I've just accepted a new job offer. A better package all round so have a virtual "sip" or two on me.

Well done Keith, that's great news.
I'll have a sip with you, anything between a good coffee and a single malt or both would go down very well at the moment as I'm having a bad day.
Hope it all works out well for you.

Congratulations keith.
Though boasting about the size of your package isn't like you.

If it's only a sip I'll have a spot of Armagnac, cheers!
Same sort of job or something really new?

As you say John, size is not something I'd be boasting about. "Better" was what I said and as I've indicated to the wife on several occasions, that can be smaller, shorter, slimmer or less. In this case however it isn't. So all three and a half bikes can feel safe this winter and look forward to some excitement come spring time.
Where was I, oh yes only a couple of sips so a tumbler or two of a nice whiskey is a good choice. Unfortunately because only the other day all the scotch just evaporated, I've had a couple of sips of beer and tonight a couple of wine. (Note to self; remember to close the cupboard door and to stop throwing away the cork.)
For your info Jay the Falco was purchased initially by my own company so I can attend site "promptly". I think it has served that purpose very well over the years. I don't think my new employer will be persuaded into buying that MV at the local bike shop, however even though they don't need it, I have been known to act irrationally at times. An investment... hmm, that's not irrational is it?
In answer to your question Bobbie, I'll still be a Software Development Manager but with a bigger team in a different technical area. So not completely new but should still be quite different.
With this new role I do have less of a commute with the last 5 miles of heavy traffic cut. I shall still be able to get "lost" on the back roads and may be able to indulge some of my hobbies a little more.
It is certainly great to have the recent financial uncertainties resolved before Christmas and to know that the next mortgage repayment will not be a contribution diverted from my pension...
So another round is in order.

I think there are signs that you've had quite enough already ..... and resorting to eating hummus just confirms it!
