Bars open for gardening leave

well - I am currently sitting in my office at work, about to start 5 weeks of gardening leave - during which time I need to find a new job
as a friend of mine said - "Who have you told to fuck off this time!"
actually, no one - but the old adage of trusting no one is spot on - especially when you have a scheming manipulative bitch of a deputy manager who has ring fenced a series of accusations that make your position untenable.....
so - I have an awful lot of very unhappy staff, a lot of very upset residents and relatives who have just ripped my boss a new arsehole.....
(And from a business side, the local social services department are now cancelling the future contracts as they do not know if they will be able to trust who ever replaces me..... local health authority is not amused either....as for the GP's - they have really kicked off)
so - small rant over... bars open... I may well quaff heavily tonight.... but i do have to sober up for wednesday as I have an interview.....

I simply cannot understand the modern management style, fuck providing a quality service, lets reduce the running costs, this is what my irrelevant degree in tourism taught me... ect ect.
Joined your totally valid rant, now join you with a glass.
best of luck

Enjoy a bit of a break and take stock of a few things. Should be a good time of year for it.

Not sure how all that lot came about, but you must be well pissed off!
Really hope the interview on Wednesday goes well, good luck.
It's getting really nasty in lots of "government" type jobs recently, such as Local Government, Health Service, Police etc..
You really have to kiss arse and be careful what you say, trouble is there are so many people who are full time in the former occupation.
In this case kissing a**e also includes letting senior management know when other people have non appropriate views.
From what I know of you, you are probably much like me, and refuse to do the kissing and say exactly what you think, not what senior management want to hear.
It had got so much worse in the last few years before I left.
Some of our management would talk about new ways of working, joking about how we had tried this before on many occasions, and it had never worked.
They'd go to one top level meeting and come back preaching the gospel, they disagreed with.
Keep your chin up and I'm sure you'll get through all this, you seem to have a knack of bouncing back, and finding something better.
If you ever need a chat, I've been on a sort of "gardening leave" for almost a year now, so any time.

Pete, I'm sure you'll come out of this ok. You strike me as one of life's bouncy people.
