hello all is it just me or has 2012 been crap ?
did a rally in April DAMP all enjoyable but
went to lemons very damp
did a few commutes most damp
last w/end another rally,, Friday damp, (good bands and beer)
saturday GOOD !! but then, apparently the lake nearby had to much water in it so they let it out !! the bar shut when the water got to 4 feet deep
by about 1am there were 4by4s towing trikes stuck in the new lake (no bands due to the electrics blowing up) poss i should not have sat drinking
beer as the flood came in :smt017

Marches meet had some sunshine this year. The not a Wake meet was actually hot. An' at the festival of 1000 bikes despite all odds, we litteraly skipped between raindrops to have a predominatly dry occassion.

Not a bad year despite a fk'd gear box on the BM and an annoying short circuit on the Falco. We've survived and look forward to the dry clean, empty tarmac dreams are made of.

Won't even go through the shit that riding my bike has kept me sane from no worse than most of us but the bike has kept me going as my favourite Ogri cartoon says "Stuff everything I've still got my bike "

Looks as if we might have to get used to it

"A repeat of this year's washout summer is the last thing most people want from the English weather – but more of the same could be on the way, and could become the norm"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2 ... out-summer

"So what about the next few summers? Professor Sutton says there is no sign of the Atlantic Ocean cooling for the moment so the current pattern is likely to continue"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19848112

Preceded by a very chilly winter

"The record loss of Arctic sea ice this summer may mean a cold winter for the UK and northern Europe. . . . . . 'We can't make predictions yet … [but] I wouldn't be surprised to see wild extremes this winter' "

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2 ... intcmp=239

Just thought I'd cheer everyone up a bit . . .

'We can't make predictions yet

More good news (not)

"Sarah Jackson from the Met Office . . . said that this year's conditions were partly caused by a move to a negative phase of the North Atlantic Oscillation which would be likely to lead to more frequent cold, drier winters - like the 1960s - and also wetter summers for 10-20 years."
