To celebrate my first week of retirement I took the Falco for it's test yesterday, in the rain!
It flew straight through, as it has done every time for the eight years I've had it, still with the Euro headlight. :smt009
So the drinks are on me again.
Sup up!

Sorry!! I read this the other week then forgot to reply. Feel quite rude now.
Congrats on the Falco passing the test and on your retirement going ok.

I'll skip the drink and go wash the empty glasses that are on the bar..

Why, thank you, thank you!

A pint of Guinness, please! (And screw the fact that it's only 10am!) :smt003

Guinness and Old Peculia, (in reply on other thread) at the same time?
Many years ago in Yorkshire we used to stick best bitter and Guinness in the same glass and call it a pint of Black and Tan, (or any other stout like Mackeson or Jubilee - anybody else remember them).
Pretty good as I remember it. :smt023

I used to drink Mild when I lived in the midlands but when I moved down south 40-odd years ago, it just wasn't available (except bottled and branded which was not the same), that's really when I became a wine drinker.

A few years ago we visited a pub in north Wales that had mild on tap -damn, can't even say that now, on a pump - so I happily ordered a pint - then wondered whether I would still like it!

I did!

..... but the brews down south are so much better.
How I miss Henleys, Breakspears and Wadworths brews on draught

Well if we're drinking mild, I'll raise a glass of Ruby to you Howard.
It's not been that long ago that there were little old backstreet pubs round here that only sold mild. No call for that new fangled bitter.
