Sidestand

Do that before anything else

Like now

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

The most popular mods are
15 tooth front sprocket, Rear shock change Ohlins or white mille off a gen 1, clutch jet.....
These will improve the bike for
1) low speed riding and better excelleration
2)Improve the ride and handling
3)Help select neutral easier

The list of mods go on and on but these to me are the essential after the side stand of course
The shock change is only adviseable if the origional blue shock is fitted

These mods are my opinion others might disagree
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Sick? No, most of us have been there :smt003

I think I used a 06 blade stand, used the original bolt and springs and everything else fitted perfect.

What you have bought is a brilliant bike, Reliable and well built.

Majority of mods are quite cheap to iron out the niggling but few problems with the bike.

origional side stands really are not up to the job. The angle and length is all wrong.

If your bike is a bugger to find neutral it will be the clutch jet, around about a tenner for the jet .
https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.php?t=9145

Standard cans are extremely heavy and there is plenty of choice on aftermarket ones, I run motad venoms with no baffles but the V twin engine sounds awsome with these cans on.

you can spend has little or has much has you like on your falco but the sky is the limit. Also it can be addictive :smt018 Trust me.

What you will be doing is personalising your bike.

Gen 1 milles are good donor bikes for the falco.
Wheels like oz can be very expensive 400 quid upwards i have found unless you are lucky.. But your bike will change direction more sharply has these wheels are a lot lighter over stock brembo wheels.

And on a final note the mille swingarm on the falco is a very tastefull modification, and funny enough to go with your black frame i have an origional black mille swinger. But i am waiting on another forum member to decide if he would like it, if he is talking :smt003

I have skimmed the surface has the list go's on and on and on and i think you get the picture :smt002

Welcome Del. :smt006
As others have said, you've bought a great bike, which could become a keeper!
Just take your time and get used to the bike, if we ever get some decent weather.
The Falco takes a bit of time to get to know, especially if you are coming from a Jap IL4, it may feel a bit unusual at first, but this bike has real character and the more you ride it. the more you'll love it.
Enjoy!

To give you an idea about cosmetic and aesthetic mods, there are loads of pictures on the forum with stuff we have done. As for the more technical stuff, plenty of articles. It is more like the encyclopedia falco on here, with some gurus thrown in :smt003

no, but i think that a few folk have from af1

if you have the kind of cheek associated with a black falco owner, i would ring up lings, where you spent a few quid when you bought the bike a week or so ago, and see what they can do for you price wise....

Hello mate. Happy Falco ownership.
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?
