Moto guzzi griso???

#1 Post by graham0071 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:15 pm

Not been on the site for far too long but have to confess I sold myMille and now am thinking about buying a Moto Guzzi Griso(dare I admit this on this site?)

Any advice on if there are any problems with the Griso?
I might just be tempted if someone is selling a Top notch falco though!!??
Happy Christmas! :smt017

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Ah the rockin' Rev! Welcome back, long time no see :smt001

I know nothing of the Moto Guzzi, Im sure we do have at least one Guzzi fan kicking about the forums though.

I'm positive there'd be a decent Falco kicking about too or one of the mob will know of one. Dont miss a trick this lot... :smt005

A Happy Christmas to you too :smt114

Yeah - I hope there are a few that know a bit about them ..... otherwise I told him a big fat porky when I suggested he should get back on here and ask the knowledgeably massive.

(still if I'm wrong it serves him right for being a Leeds supporter .... which, no doubt, will get Nursie all excited)

I thought most season ticket holders at Coventry do not
Mention football....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Guzzis.. Hit n' miss. Steer clear of a brand new one as there's a 95% chance it won't be right. Maybe find one with a few miles on it that's had all the warranty faults sorted. The one's I've seen recently (at the NEC) the build quality wasn't brilliant and neither was the finish. A friend in Australia has had nothing but trouble with his. Personally, I wouldn't touch one with Petes. :smt002
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Can't really comment on the new ones. I had a 1990 one and it had.

Bulletproof mechanicals.
Good suspension and brakes
Good electrical parts (bosch mostly)
Good quality ally
Really crap wiring and paint
Where ever I lay my hat.....

Always liked the idea of owning one, form the original Le Mans to the Griso.
It's just a nice big Italian V/Twin with lots of character that's pretty unique, (can't think why I like 'em :smt017 :smt002 ).
Don't really know any close mates who have had one.
It sounds a good idea to me, try one.

I looked at a Griso a while bike. I think it's a really nice bike aesthetically, and rides quite nice too. My only gripe was the side stand. It's a bit of a stretch to get the thing up, bloody pain springs to mind.
